The City of Fargo Engineering Department is seeking qualified individuals to assist in the performance of various duties involved in apportioning costs of special assessment projects within the City including assigning work to co-workers, maintaining Special Assessment GIS data, performing research, data entry and digitizing using specialized software. This position will assist with preparation of special assessments on simple and complex projects, perform calculations, post legal notices and process documentation, receive and respond to inquiries from the general public and developers. A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in geography, civil engineering, utilities, natural resources, computer science, or closely related field with emphasis in geographic information systems and a valid driver’s license are also required. The City of Fargo Health Department is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse responsible for managing client flow, providing patient care in the Public Health Clinic and working in the North Dakota Health Tracks Program (preventative health screenings for newborns up to 21 years of age). Duties include triaging walk-in clients, obtaining client’s history, immunizations, health education, family planning and preventative pediatric screenings. Comfort with diverse cultures and populations is vital. The successful candidate must work interdependently with the Public Health team, utilize critical thinking skills, and be flexible. Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, along with two or more years of previous professional experience. A valid State of ND registered nurse and driver’s license are also required. Knowledge of community resources and experience in Public Health is a plus. Hours are 7:45am – 4:30pm (Monday-Wednesday), 12:00pm – 8:00pm (Thursday), and 8:00am – 4:45pm (Friday). The Transit Department for the cities of Fargo and Moorhead is seeking a full-time Paratransit Reservationist with a background in customer service, social services, or transportation. Responsibilities for this position include scheduling customer rides by telephone, using specialized software, using a two way radio to communicate with Paratransit drivers to ensure reliable service, creating daily schedules, and other clerical duties as assigned. Paratransit eligible riders are unable to physically, cognitively, or emotionally use the fixed route bus. These positions will be primarily weekends and overnights, with potential shifts as needed throughout the work week. The Shelter/Detox Advocate provides and enhances safe emergency shelter, drop-in services, and detox center services. As a direct contact for the guests and clients, the advocate ensures a safe and respectful environment while conducting intakes and assessments, assisting individuals with connections to community-based services, and other duties to support the individuals and program environment we serve. Cultural competence and sensitivity to mental health and substance use issues is required.
