Equipment Technician II (Diesel)
The City of Fargo is seeking Equipment Technician II’s for the Transit Maintenance division and the Public Works division. The Transit Equipment Technician II performs maintenance and repair on the Metro Area Transit (MAT) buses. The Public Works Equipment Technician II performs maintenance and repair on the various trucks, off-road equipment and automotive vehicles which the City of Fargo departments operate. Incumbent must have strong communication skills, extensive vehicle diagnostic knowledge, experience in using fleet management software systems and proficient in using onboard vehicle computers. This position requires an Associate’s degree in diesel or automotive mechanics, three or more years of previous experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience performing maintenance and repair on diesel equipment. A valid CDL with air brake endorsement and ASE certification is also required. Employee must furnish a complete set of hand tools. Employment is contingent upon successful background check, pre-placement evaluation, drug screen and proof of valid licensing. Salary is $19.95-25.94 per hour DOE, plus benefits. Occupational Health Nurse PractitionerPosting Closes: 5/30/2014
The City of Fargo has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to develop and coordinate a comprehensive Occupational Health Program for City of Fargo employees. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with key stakeholders to assess the City’s occupational health needs and develop a comprehensive program to best meet these needs. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for pre-placement, periodic and return-to-work health assessments as well as performing medical case management. The NP will also assess, triage, counsel and provide first aide to injured employees.

The successful candidate must have proven skills in program development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this highly collaborative position. Bachelor’s degree in nursing and successful completion of a nurse practitioner program and three or more years of professional nursing experience is required, preferably in an occupational health program. Also required are a State of North Dakota registered nurse license and an advance practice license with prescription authority.

This position will read and orientate blueprint/plan sheets, interpret and apply specifications, organize and record data, perform repetitive motions, kneeling, walking and general physical labor. 45-60 hours per week.
